Good Notes #3
Hello!
I am approaching Good Notes in a different way this time.
These are some of the things that have been on my mind in July. You might find that they are relatable and could even be used as writing prompts. Or, just things that you enjoy to read and perk up your day a little. We are still living through tough times, so if it's the latter, I’m happy it's added something to your day.
I am also sharing with you some of my sketches below
I like this sketch because it is both drawings from my partner and myself. The top is my partner’s and mine is the bottom. (they are of different buildings by the way) I love the contrast in how we draw and approach our sketches.
Just a wine bottle and glass
3. Drawing under timed conditions is an interesting exercise. These were ten second drawings. Bottom right was the waiter.

July, a list
Where has July gone? I feel like I went to sleep one June night, and woke up in July
Looking at the shapes in between clouds, the blue window that changes moment by moment
How much more aesthetically pleasing orange peels are once peeled and coiled, with their cream rougher under-skin exposed
Laundry is tiresome
Bursting trees against urban backdrops is important for our soul. Some people have to look out the window and only see the repetition of lifeless concrete, this can’t be good for their soul. We need trees to feel goodness within.
Being indoors for this long and my back aching makes me want to run around outside in the open space, tumbling, falling, rolling, stretching and breathing fresh air. The pandemic feels ceaseless
Manifesting is a full time job and over time it will bring rewards, I think, but it's hard. Its growth, its transformation, its vulnerability
The way we welcome a ladybird onto our fingers, watching the polka dot creature roam our hands, but fiercely reject the spider
The feeling of being unsettled and wondering how long this will last and what it will take to feel unsettled again
How are you meant to know which option is better than the other, even with the presented information that enables you to dissect the information, make pros and cons lists, argue points over another, is it just dependent on how we feel then, is life just a series of responding to our emotional tectonic plates
I grew up in the city but i’d rather live amongst the land that comes to and recedes from the house, with the sound of the ocean holding my little family
The flurry of colours and patterns that comes from dried paint on your palette
Hearing the birds talk in the morning and fly in and out of the trees always brings me back to you, Dad.
It’s terrifying how bad governments are and how responsible they are for our present and future
And finally,
Some artists I have come across and am head over heels in love with their work
